Subject: My first MCP I ever downloaded
This remains one of my favorite hours of music I have in almost 12,000 hours of tunes on drives, DATS, cd's and more around the house. Seriously. These cats were something special when they were having fun and making the pulse pump, the energy excited, the butt boogie and the face flex into smiles...

There is almost NO way you won't love this - one request - could we get it to the point where this one streams, please?

Subject: Cultivating the Mood at MidX
The first band to perform at the fest, Mood Cultivation Project kicked things off on the Main Stage at 12:30 on Friday afternoon and set the tone for this amazing festival for the lucky folks in attendance. Feel So Good which started it all off is the only song on their setlist that afternoon that debuted prior to 2002. The rest of the songs performed by this 7-piece act from NC were all recent compositions as well as a smokin' cover of Led Zeppelin's No Quarter that they tackled for the first time just last month. The Feelin' Good Vocal Medley towards the end of the song showcases their talent as all-around musicians. Spring Bird (On the Fly) and Diamonds in the Dew both debuted in 2003 after the final piece of the puzzle, Tommy Smith joined the band on keys. Spring Bird is a beautiful composition that features a searing slide intro by George on guitar and then gently transitions it down a notch for the first verse before raging again for the chorus. Diamonds in the Dew flies off the blocks with Roo setting a frantic pace on the drumkit and the rest of the band following the tempo as the band begins to show their many faces, moving from the jammed out Southern Rock sound to a Psychedelic Rock tune replete with structural changes and transitions without skipping a beat. Then comes an excellent rendition of No Quarter which is well known to fans of Classic Rock. The last two songs, Tin Roof Sound and Alright were the two I would've requested for them to play for the crowd at MidX because they are my two favorites among their original compositions and hands down two of my favorite songs by any band. Joe's vocal power, range and ability are well known to anyone who had listened up to this point, now it was time to showcase his harmonica playing as well. Alright sees George switch to Mandolin, showing yet another side of this multi-dimensional band. There's no doubting the originality of a band whose songs feature interplay between harmonica, mandolin, and guitar all on the same song. And a great song at that. It will quickly become one of your favorites. An all around excellent performance by the band on a stage big enough to fit them all and do their sound justice. Very happy with the quality of the recording too which is what I use solely to base my star ratings on. Get this one today!
